To support our team, there are regular visits from the GP and District Nurses, as well as the dentist, chiropodist, optician and other health care professionals.
Sometimes, though, feeling good is just about having a bit of a boost, so weekly visits from the hairdresser in our in-house salon are very popular with many of our residents, and there’s often the chance to get a manicure too.
Mealtimes are an important part of family life here at Cooksditch House, just as they are in your family home.
A healthy, nutritious and tasty diet is central to your wellbeing, so our chefs work hard to prepare meals you’ll enjoy and look forward too.
All your food, from breakfast to your evening meal, is freshly prepared every day in our own kitchen, including freshly baked cakes for your morning or afternoon snack. You’ll find a wide variety of home-cooked dishes, and we will make sure we get to know your favourites and the things you’re not keen on.
Your specific dietary needs are fully assessed as part of your personal care plan, and we cater for all dietary requirements.
Your personal likes and dislikes form part of your personal care plan too, down to, for example, whether you like to have a cup of tea before you get up, and your favourite cup.
Many of our residents enjoy the opportunity to socialise over meals in the dining rooms, but of course, if you prefer to take your meals in your own room, we will bring them to you there.
As well as your personal care plan, you will have named carers who understand your needs and wants, and who get to know you – while you get to know them.
All of our bedrooms are a good size, and tastefully decorated, allowing you to personalise your space with your favourite things. Many are en-suite, and each is equipped with TV point and 24 hour nurse call.
We provide high quality furniture and fittings, including profiling beds in the nursing wing.
You’ll be encouraged to personalise your room with your favourite possessions, like pictures, ornaments and even certain items of furniture.
It’s important that you enjoy your life and feel part of our family community, so we provide plenty of opportunity to socialise and get involved.
We organise regular events and parties including celebrating your birthday. From Christmas parties to summer fetes, Royal Weddings or St Georges Day, we make sure there are always things to celebrate. Your family will be welcome too.
You’ll find a regular programme of activities, from singing, fitness and dancing, quizzes and that old favourite bingo, you’ll find a whole range of things to get involved in.
We also welcome input from you and your family as to what else we could do to make sure you enjoy life at Cooksditch House to the fullest.
If your loved one has moved in, you are part of the family too. You are welcome to visit anytime, and join your relative for meals or at one of our social events. We also understand that having a loved one move into care can be a big adjustment for the rest of the family, so we are always here to discuss your feelings, and answer any questions.
